Phases of Fashion
Project Prompt:
Create a mood board.
Use the elements of art and principles of design to make fun fashion designs.
Parameters for Students:
Arrange your mood board using images cut from magazines, fabric swatches, wallpaper samples, and your own sketches.
As your mood board comes together, identify elements of art and principles of design—such as color, form, and pattern. Does a theme emerge? Let it be your inspiration!
Create sketches, adding notes about materials and sustainability, as you work.
You may choose to develop any part of your idea, from producing a complex pattern to creating a fully realized, wearable garment.

First, Camila made a mood board.
Experiment at Home:
Don’t have access to a sewing machine or fabric? No problem! Mood boards are great ways to develop your ideas. Then you can experiment with unexpected materials like coffee filters, plastic bags, or even paper clips!
